Patrick F. Casey accepted the appointment as Director of Bands at Central Missouri State University (Warrensburg, MO) in the fall of 1996. At Central, Dr. Casey serves as Conductor of the University Concert Band, the Collegiate Band and the Campus Band, and assists the athletic bands as musical development specialist for the Marching Mules. In addition, he teaches courses in conducting, music education and music appreciation. Under his direction, the University Concert Band performed at the Missouri Music Educators annual conference in January 1998 and completed their first compact disc recording later that year.

Casey's first years of teaching were as a band director in the public schools of Dardanelle, Arkansas from 1983-1985. Since that time, his teaching experience have included posts in music education and bands at Oregon State University, the University of Oregon, The Ohio State University, and the University of Dayton. In addition, he is the founding Music Director of the Arkansas River Valley Concert Band, the Miami Valley (OH) Community Chamber Winds, and the Warrensburg (MO) Chamber Players.

Dr. Casey' formal education includes degrees in Music Education and Conducting from Arkansas Tech University, Northwestern University, and The Ohio State University. Primary conducting teachers have been Hal Cooper, John P. Paynter, Craig Kirchhoff and Richard Blatti. His conducting training has also included seminar work with H. Robert Reynolds, Allan McMurray, and Mallory Thompson.

Dr. Casey's professional affiliations include the Music Educators National Conference, the College Band Directors National Association (Missouri State Chairperson), the National Band Association (Missouri State Chairperson), the Missouri Music Educators Association, the Missouri Bandmaster's Association, Phi Beta Mu, and Pi Kappa Lambda.
