Students' Reactions to Tsunami

I feel terribly about what happened.  I can’t imagine what it must be like for those left in the destruction.  If I could do something, it would be what we are doing in class, donating money and encouraging others to donate money to help the effort.

I would try and raise money and find loving families for the children who lost parents.

I think that the best thing we can do right now is help the relief effort and give money and supplies.  I think it is really devastating and I feel bad for all the people that have lost friends and family.

I feel extremely bad for the people that have lost loved ones or that are homeless.  I would donate all I could to help them.  I would try to get them some food and clothes to keep shelter.

I think the disaster wasn’t a good thing, but that it is helping to unify people.  If I could help, I’d do anything I could: raise money, go help with the damaged countries, etc.  One reaction that I have is that the disaster is somewhat like 9/11 in that everyone feels a little closer.

I feel bad about what happened to all the people.  They didn’t have much warning and were left defenseless.  Right now, we are donating money to send to South Asia.

I can’t believe 150,000 people have died from a wave.  The cities must be completely destroyed.  I feel very sorry for the people who have lost a loved one.  I am going to donate some money to the countries.

After studying about the disaster I feel even worse for the victims.  They have lost everything including family.  If I could do something I would raise money and items for the victims and then ship them over there.  I would and am praying for them.

After studying about this I feel sorry for them and would like to help by collecting money and supplies to support them while they are going through this sad time.  Then send them food.  It would be nice to send them cards in their language.

After studying about this disaster I feel very sad about all that has happened and wish it never had happened.  To help the people in South Asia I will help give money to the class so we can reach our goal.

About what happened I feel horrible but also grateful for what I have.  If I could do something I would send money or raise money.  Also raise products or collect food and clothes to send.  I hope all of the people there can get back to their normal lives.

After studying I feel very sorry for the people this happened to and feel very fortunate that I have my family, house identity and live still.  If I could help I would donate money to the families and help with reconstructing things.

This is an event that rarely occurs.  It teaches me to live life to its fullest.  I don’t have but a couple of ideas to help.  Such as make food and sell it for relief fund.  Or have a garage sale.

I feel very sorry for all the people who can’t find their family members.  If I could, I would help to build orphanages to house all the recent orphans.

I think it is really devastating the hurt and chaos these people are going through.  Now they are struggling to survive everyday after they struggled to get over the loss of their loved ones.  If I could do something to help, I would travel over to South Asia and help in the reconstruction of new homes and buildings and I would start donating money to relief funds.

After learning about the tsunami I’m very glad we don’t live by an ocean.  I feel very sad for the people who lost everything in the storm.  We in the U.S. complain when it rains or we get al little standing water.  My family and I sent money over to them and I hope it helps them a little.

If I could do anything to help I would go there and help build houses.  Also, I would give money and help give them a future.

I would take lumber and sand and go down there and build houses and plant grass.

I feel sad about what happened.  People don’t deserve to go through that.  I can help by contributing to the relief fund here at school.
